OAI-PMH resumption tokens should not cause a noRecordsMatch error

Reported by Gordon Paynter | December 11th, 2008 @ 12:50 PM | in 1.2

The noRecordsMatch error on the last page of the Kete ListRecords response is confusing ourharvester.

The harvester sees this response assumes there was an error during harvesting and therefore the harvest is incomplete, even though the harvest is actually complete.

This is not a standard use of resumption tokens — the OAI-PMH spec says that "the response containing the incomplete list that completes the list must include an empty resumptionToken element".

Any chance we can get this fixed? It is going to affect every Kete eventually.

Thanks for the report Gordon. I'll look into whether this is an issue with the underlying OAI ruby gem (third party software library) or Kete's customization of it.

    Cheers, Walter

It would be good to get this done for 1.2, so that Kete Horowhenua gets it at their next upgrade.

Gordon reports that his harvester now receives a proper end of records that it expects.

The problem was likely caused by a badly formated record being returned that has probably now been deleted from the system in question. Closing this ticket, but if the problem reappears after a 1.2 upgrade we'll reopen it.
