Implement support for harvesting embedded metedata in binary file uploads

Reported by Walter McGinnis | December 15th, 2008 @ 04:30 PM | in 1.2

If a site has it configured, use Exiftool (http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~p... and the mini_exiftool gem (https://rubyforge.org/projects/m... to mine embedded metadata (Exif, XMP, ID3, IPTC, etc.) from uploaded files and populate attributes of an item (title, short_summary, description, tag, license, and extended fields).

As mentioned, since Exiftool is separate installation, make this optional and turned off by default. Site administrators will also have to configure system settings like Title Synonyms, Tag Synonyms, as well as each application extended field's import synonyms.

This should apply to still images, audio, video, and documents.

Cheers, Walter
