Interface cues when Gravatar support is enabled

Reported by Walter McGinnis | January 9th, 2009 @ 02:17 PM | in 1.2

Add the following to the user signup/profile edit form:

If user portraits or gravatar support is enabled:

  • the "empty" avatar should be displayed to the right of email address field
  • under it there should be a list of actions:
    • if user portraits are enabled, add a note that says "you may designate a picture you have uploaded to the site as your portrait after you signup"
    • if gravatar support is enabled, but no email matches a gravatar (see below), have a link like on user profile that points at gravatar.com

If gravatar support is enabled:

  • when email is entered an ajax update will update the display of the avatar to reflect if they have a gravatar
  • the link to gravatar link in the list should changed to only read "this site is Gravata enabled"

    • Tag set to avatar, gravatar, preferences, profile, registration
    • State changed from “new” to “to-review”

This work has been pushed to the branch refinement_152_gravatar_interface_cues

It's not exactly as requested in the ticket.

The text is on the side because of spacing issues (with that much text under it, there was a big gap between the email and password fields.

Also, the text doesn't update, only the avatar does. Instead, it displays a generic "This site supports Gravatar." with Gravatar being a link, which I think work ok for this.
