XML element name can't handle qualified dublin core elements

Reported by Kieran P | July 30th, 2008 @ 03:56 PM

If an admin adds a new topic type field that has an xml element name of ‘dcterms:spatial’ for example, the addition of any topics with this field will fail.

Update Zebra’s parsing of new records to handle a “dcterms” name space.

Cheers,

Walter

I have added the supporting topic_type_field attribute “xsi_type” for handling Qualified Dublin Core and contacted the Zebra mailinglist. Simple Dublin Core should do for now since you can store all the necessary data and it will be fully searcable.

In fact, it is considered best if one’s xml degrades gracefully to simple DC. We may want to discuss the implementation of Qualified Dublin Core further.

    Cheers,

I believe there is a question of whether this is a good idea at all. Therefore, I’m putting this off indefinitely, but not closing this ticket.

    Cheers
